Downtown becomes a playground for creatives, where the streets transform into canvases and imagination runs wild. To honor 10 years of infusing magic into the heart of Downtown Las Vegas, we’re featuring some of Beautiful’s most beloved artists, who’ll return to bring their vibrancy back and beautify the city once again.
Eric Vozzola is an artist and designer based in Las Vegas. Known for his vibrant color palettes and nods to the surrounding desert environment, Vozolla will use his signature style to reimagine the iconic Life is Beautiful letters for the 2023 festival, where fans can expect a vibrant backdrop that highlights his appreciation for abstraction, geometry, realism, color theory, and nature.
Jerry Misko is a Las Vegas born artist who has worked with Life is Beautiful for a variety of projects over the years. Misko’s portfolio includes paintings and murals commissioned by the festival, the City of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, MTV, and Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to name a few. His work can also be found in many private art collections across the globe.
For the last 7 years, London artist Andy Leek has been posting kind, encouraging, hopeful, and irreverent words on streets across the globe, including Downtown Las Vegas when he showcased his work at Life is Beautiful in 2019. Leek has created thousands of notes in over 25 countries, leaving a lasting impression on the audiences that come across his art. Sharable and impactful, his notes have been amplified by social media and highlights in major news networks such as the BBC, ABC, The Daily Mail and The Guardian – proving the undeniable power of kindness.
Scott Froschauer is an artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, creating work that is first and foremost experiential. Incorporating playfulness with concepts of connection and empathy, he surprises his audience with new perspectives and unexpected juxtapositions of ideas, materials and symbols. Froschauer is returning to the festival with his memorable collection of street signs featuring positive affirmations including “You are Fire”, once again transforming perspectives in the streets of Downtown Las Vegas.
Returning to Life is Beautiful after her 2022 debut, Neon Saltwater is a multimedia artist based in Seattle. Creating digital environments with 3D modeling programs, the artist ties her pieces together with light, color, and nostalgic architectural details. While these are often familiar environments, they are contrasted with impossible sunsets, complex color dynamics, and cinematic emotions. Reimagining her digital work in a tangible setting, Neon Saltwater has produced a handful of experiential environments in the form of pop ups, installations, and exhibits – including the colorful installation displayed at last year’s Life is Beautiful.
JUSTKIDS is back to bring our desert playground to new heights with radiant creations. Immerse yourself in brand new sensations as Neon Saltwater returns to transform the landscape with an experimental installation. JUSTKIDS has consecutively curated the Art Program for the Life is Beautiful Festival since its inception in 2013, inviting hundreds of world-renowned national and international artists including Shepard Fairey, Lakwena, Felipe Pantone, Camille Walala, Banksy and many more, to add permanent art installations to the ever-growing outdoor art gallery of DTLV.
Turning Downtown Las Vegas into an art-gallery involves elevating every single detail into something remarkable. Be on the watch for these familiar creatives, as their digital designs adorn numerous territories in the land of Beautiful, spanning from beverages, stage designs, signage, and beyond.
Mila May is a Ukrainian born artist who began her creative career during lockdown – a time when Downtown Las Vegas businesses wanted to add murals to their boarded up storefronts. Featured on limited-edition Big Dog Brewing beers made specifically for the festival, Mila’s art is inspired by nature, the universe, and everything. She uses bright colors, bold shapes and whimsical characters to explore imagined worlds as well as places based on history.
Pretty Done is a creative brand based on abstract, freestyle pop art. Hand-drawn characters, fonts, & design patterns are processed with creative color combinations, bold lines, and imaginary imagery. Using a mixture of mediums ranging from canvas paintings, spray painted street murals, customized clothing, immersive bathroom designs and always traditional ink & paper. The artwork is based on positive energy, fun meaningful messages, & abstract youthfulness which represents a unique universal language of ideas.
Fans will also be surrounded by colorful designs created by Color Punch, the Bay Area / New York based creative studio that has indelibly shaped the vibrant visual identity of Life is Beautiful throughout the years. Their visionary partnership has yielded a kaleidoscope of high-level marketing creative, branding, printed materials, stage designs, and more, all seamlessly woven into the fabric of the festival’s experience. With an unrivaled ability to fuse artistic innovation with the festival’s core essence, Color Punch has been one of the artistic cornerstones of Life is Beautiful, crafting a visual narrative that evolves with each passing year.
Our city is opulent with unique and expressive minds, ready to paint the world with eccentricity. To fuse our love for the Las Vegas community with the spirit of creativity, we welcomed local creatives to share their craft with the world of Beautiful. Curated by Elliot and Jessica Demlow of Paints with Care, this year’s local art program comprises of the city’s most skillful artists.
A wife-and-husband duo, Jessica and Elliott Demlow have been engaged with the Las Vegas art scene for years. They’ve worked on multiple mural projects and have assisted in curating events and spaces that showcase a variety of murals and installations. In recent years, Elliott and Jessica have focused on art production management and artist relations, taking extra measures as they work behind the scenes to assist other artists with production of their work. Additionally, they have painted several of their own murals. This year, they have taken on the role of Local Art Program curators, and will be showcasing their work alongside many other Las Vegas creatives.
